都心の眺望のよい環境にある住宅の改修計画
天井が高くとれない条件からも、住戸からはみ出し、どこまでも水平に伸びる住空間がイメージされた。それは都市にいながら、窪みに身を潜め遠くを眺める、明るい洞窟のように思えた。
穴的に住空間を設えた。
まず、友人と集まれる広いリビングを北側にまとめた。天井はリズムよく上下するように配管を整理し、微細な粒子の左官で仕上げた。床はフローリング簾貼りとし、床としての純度を高めている。おおらかな天井と床に挟まれ、景色が水平に展開する。
窓が取れない住戸奥のバスルームからも、クローゼット、寝室を経由した先に景色が見えるようにしている。夕陽が沈むのを眺めながら湯に浸かる、この家の特等席である。
建具を最小限に抑えたことで、全体がゆるゆるとつながり、シームレスにシーンが続いていく。玄関ホールからは、柔らかい曲線でまとめたトンネルをくぐり、アプローチする。また、シーンの突き当たりには、アイストップとなるアートワークを置いた。
住戸を横に引き伸ばすことで都市まで拡大し、内外の境界が曖昧な周辺環境と同期する住戸とした。
日の出と共に目覚め、日暮と共に眠りにつく。自然に近い人間らしい暮らしの場として再生した。
A spatial redesign of a residence overlooking downtown Tokyo.
The ceiling height fixed, the space evokes a feeling of being inside a small hollow. In search of light within the city, the home acts as an aperture, expanding outwards, endlessly, beyond the confines of the unit.
The home embraces the hollow-like space, creating openness, calm, and serenity.
To the north, a spacious living room welcomes gatherings with friends. Overhead, the ceiling was shaped to rise in fall with rhythm, concealing the piping within and finished with fine-grained plaster. Below, the wooded flooring lines up parallel to one another, creating a calm transition throughout the room. Between the serene, rhythmic ceiling and the calming floor, the view extends outwards.
Even from the bathroom, tucked deep within the home, a line of sight threads through the closet and bedroom, reaching the scenery beyond. Making it this home’s most cherished seat, a place to soak in the tub while watching the sunset.
With doors kept to a minimum, the entire space flows gently, like a scene melting seamlessly into the next. From the entrance hall, a softly curved tunnel draws you into the home. At the end of each scene, a carefully placed artwork serves as an eye-catcher, anchoring you into the space, drawing you deeper into the home.
By drawing the living space outwards, the home reaches towards the city, blurring the boundary between the interior and exterior.
Awakening with the sunrise and resting with the sunset, an urban aperture is born. Reimagined to bring us closer to nature, allowing one to live authentically, as their true human self.
